Chargeway Partners with Consumer Reports to Improve Public EV Charging Ratings & Reviews
Portland, OR – Chargeway, the Oregon-based software company best known for developing a simple, intuitive color-coded visual system for charging EVs with “electric fuel,” has partnered with Consumer Reports to give EV drivers a better way to report public charging uptime and maintenance issues. Chargeway mobile app users throughout North America will now have the option to submit their Chargeway station reviews directly to Consumer Reports for rating public EV charging experiences based on various factors, with the findings reported to industry stakeholders.
This new feature will enhance how the Chargeway mobile app offers drivers the option to leave station reviews and report any issues directly to the customer support teams from networks. This expanded review feature will give EV drivers a voice beyond submitting their reviews in Chargeway offering them direct engagement with Consumer Reports to provide additional details if they choose.
“We are very excited to be partnering with Consumer Reports,” says Matt Teske, Founder of Chargeway. “From day one Chargeway has focused on a driver first app design to provide easier EV charging experiences as well as transparency for what drivers can anticipate at a station they choose. Through developing the most intuitive and intelligent experience for EV drivers we share Consumer Reports’ goal to give drivers a voice in the public EV charging reliability conversation. Now, instead of posting complaints on social media and feeling ignored, EV drivers can use the Chargeway mobile app to provide their feedback to the leading consumer advocacy organization.”
The new reporting feature will be easy to access within the Chargeway mobile app. Once a user leaves a station review on Chargeway they will have the option to share the details of their experience directly to Consumer Reports. Information including the network, address, vehicle that was used during the session will be automatically passed to the Consumer Reports survey with advanced reporting options such as power received, arrival and departure battery percentage, and more details available for drivers to easily add. Once collected Consumer Reports will be creating a rating and reporting system for public EV charging experiences to be shared with charging networks, automakers, policymakers, and the public, providing EV drivers a platform to improve public charging experiences and help create accountability throughout the industry.
The updated Chargeway mobile app that includes the new Consumer Reports reporting feature is available at both the App Store and Google Play Store, so head over today to download the latest version, add provide your feedback!
